What is YEA?

To ensure the future of the Society and the industry, ASHRAE is committed to advancing its programs and services for young members through helping them build their professional foundations. With this in mind, ASHRAE created a committee called Young Engineers in ASHRAE (YEA), for members age 35 and younger!

What can YEA do for me?

We’re glad you asked! To help you develop your skills, grow as a professional and expand your network, the YEA Institute was created to off er a variety of YEA focused education and networking programs tailored to your specific needs. Whether you’re learning at a conference, attending a leadership weekend or receiving one-on- one advice from a fellow ASHRAE member, the YEA Institute is the perfect opportunity for you to make the most of your time with YEA.

YEA Award of Individual Excellence

The YEA Committee is excited to announce the first annual YEA Award of Individual Excellence. This award will be given to individuals who have promoted and participated in YEA at the chapter, regional and/or Society level and have made a profound difference in the involvement and number of YEA members. Nominations must be made by a YEA Regional Coordinator (YRC), YEA Committee member, or Director and Regional Chair (DRC) and are due by November 18, 2013.


Attend the YEA Hospitality Suite during the ASHRAE Winter Conference

The 2014 ASHRAE Winter Conference is scheduled for January 18-22, 2014 in New York City. If you are planning to attend be sure to stop by the YEA Hospitality Suite on Sunday from 4:00pm – 7:00pm. Catch up with old (and new) friends and grab some food!


Registration for YEA Leadership Weekend Opening in November

YEA Leadership Weekend (YLW) and YEA Leadership International (YLI) are opportunities for you - the future leaders of ASHRAE and the industry - to learn more about Society, develop soft skills and network with other young professionals. The next YLW will be held from March 28-30, 2014 in Portland, OR.


Engineering For Change- Free Webinars

The Engineering for Change (E4C) Webinar Series promotes emerging ideas and connects you with a passionate community of engineers and development practitioners who want to make a difference. It's free and you can earn 1 PDH per webinar!  The next one is scheduled for November 19, 2013 at 11:00am.
